Help ACLT preserve owner-occupied, affordable homes for families in Amherst. Please consider donating to support specific projects, or to the general operation of the organization. Two current projects we’re excited to share are:

Located walking distance from downtown Amherst, this historic, nearly 200-year old house sits upon 25,000 square feet of land and is ACLT’s largest project to date. Our vision is to provide attractive, affordable housing for five families by renovating the existing two-family home to include three family units and constructing an additional two-family home on the parcel.
The current owners wish to see this remain affordable and are offering it to ACLT at slightly more than half the market value. We have applied for CDBG funding, and will apply for allocations from the Amherst Affordable Housing Trust, CPA funds and a private foundation. Still, private donations will be essential to close the approximately $1.5M gap needed to realize its affordable potential.

Located at the corner of Nutting and Fearing, this four bedroom single-family home is a critical property for the neighborhood’s future. As an ACLT home it will form the nucleus for maintaining a year-round neighborhood character amidst destabilizing rental market pressures.
Having raised her family and lived there for 53 years, the current owner sees the importance of this property and is selling her house $150,000 below market value to ACLT. But given the cost of housing in Amherst, even her extremely generous gift falls short of allowing this home to remain affordable. So, ACLT is working hard to raise contributions to match her gift by October.
Please help ACLT today by making a tax-deductible donation HERE. A donation of any amount will help us reach our goal, and donations over $1,000 will receive a state tax credit of 50% – effectively cutting the cost of your gift by half. Click HERE for details.
